Bruce was appointed on 31 December 2015. He chairs Heartland Bank’s People & Culture and Remuneration Committee, and is a member of the Audit Committee.
Bruce is a chartered accountant, serving as Managing Partner of Deloitte Christchurch from 1995 to 2007 before retiring in May 2008 to pursue his career as an independent director.
Bruce is a director of several public and private companies including Chair of Market Gardeners and Skope Industries, and Director of Heartland Bank Australia, House of Travel Holdings and Scenic Hotels. He also sits on the Council of the University of Canterbury, and is involved in a voluntary capacity as a trustee of the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra Foundation.
